About Huffy Puppy

Rebecca Zinner is a documentary filmmaker, animator, and educator based in Lititz, PA. Her short films have screened at film festivals and conferences in the U.S. and abroad. She has facilitated filmmaking workshops in communities around the U.S., from Colorado to Puerto Rico, in which participants learn documentary practices and explore topics impacting their own communities through film. Zinner received her M.F.A. from the University of Colorado Boulder and her B.A. from Franklin & Marshall College. She is currently an adjunct instructor at Franklin & Marshall College.

At its core, my artistic practice is an act of translation - a way to distill complex, often nuanced topics into visceral, reflective experiences. Through deep research, original reportage, and thoughtful exploration, I focus on navigating the “gray” areas of nonfiction stories, moving beyond clear-cut narratives to reveal the layered complexities within. While I often work through the camera lens, I remain open to using any medium that best conveys the essence of an idea, whether it’s animation, audio, installation, or emerging technologies. My work also extends into community media initiatives, where I design active learning experiences that build technical skills, foster media literacy, and empower participants to craft precise, impactful messages. By blending nonfiction and fiction storytelling through varied techniques, my art aims to deepen personal understanding, support reflection, and cultivate a broader awareness of the stories, people, and environment around us.
